Susan E. Block, lawyer at Paule Camazine & Blumenthal, has been selected as the recipient of the 2017 Trailblazer Award given annually by the St. Louis Forum. Created in 1994, this award recognizes a woman who was the first in her field, an influential community leader, or who made a significant contribution toward elevating the image of women in business.
Block was the first woman elected as a judge in the metropolitan St. Louis area and has continued a pattern of achievement in family law, advocacy for children, and as a mentor to other women seeking legal or judicial positions. She was the first woman to serve as the Administrative Judge of the Family Court of St. Louis County and has lectured nationally and internationally on domestic violence issues.
A past president of Food Outreach, she has served on the Missouri Children’s Trust Fund and is currently a member of the boards of Caring for Kids and HomeWorks! She was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to serve on its Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness.
The award will be presented at the Forum’s luncheon meeting on April 21, 2017.
