Paule Camazine & Blumenthal attorney Susan E. Block will be the featured speaker at the Women’s Leadership Luncheon of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Central Pacific Province. Her topic will be “Creating a Healthy Environment for Today’s Children.” The annual luncheon is held to further the understanding of leadership, bringing women leaders and colleagues together to reflect on the integration of the spiritual and professional dimensions of life.
Block retired in 2004 after serving as an Associate and Circuit Judge for 25 years. She returned to the practice of law directly after retiring. Her practice focuses on family law matters including custody disputes, grandparents’ third party custody and visitation, dissolutions of marriage, adoptions, juvenile delinquency, child abuse, neglect and school disciplinary matters, involuntary commitments, and Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board hearings.
Recipient of many awards, Block was awarded the Andrew Jackson Higgins Award for Excellence in Juvenile Justice. Her work in child advocacy has been recognized nationally and internationally. She has served as an adjunct professor at St. Louis University School of Law, Washington University School of Law, and Emory University School of Law. She was recently inducted into the Fleur de Lis Order of the St. Louis University School of Law Hall of Fame.
