Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal attorney Susan E. Block has been selected by The Black Rep as the recipient of the Frankie Muse Freeman Spirit Award, to be given at the theatre company’s 8th Annual Gala on November 11, 2023.

As a longtime supporter of the Black Rep’s productions, Block has maintained a strong commitment to diversity in the arts, the community, and the legal profession. Serving on the Missouri Supreme Court’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness Commission, Block has played a leadership role in making the administration of justice accessible to all, particularly children of color. As a former Administrative Judge of the Family Court of St. Louis County, Block initiated practices and procedures locally to reduce the number of children in detention and to enhance children’s return to their families in child protection matters.

Block is also being honored at an unveiling of her judicial portrait in the St. Louis County Circuit Courthouse on November 9. This event is sponsored by the Women Lawyer’s Association of Greater St. Louis.
