Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal attorney Lisa G. Moore was recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as a “Legal Champion” at a recent Missouri Lawyers Awards ceremony. Lisa was nominated for her voluntary and uncompensated representation of the mother of a transgender child who was referred by the transgender clinic at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The child was suicidal and needed medical and mental health intervention, but her parents could not agree on the services. Through Lisa’s efforts, which included educating the court about the unique problems of transgendered children, and with the sensitivity and understanding of the court, Lisa was successful in getting the services this child needed, avoiding what could have been tragic consequences.
The presentation of the award was preceded by remarks describing Lisa’s professional path: “She had a simple goal at the start of her career, to make a difference.” Her colleagues at Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal witness, with pride, her continued dedication to that simple goal.
We congratulate Lisa, as we strive to follow her example and provide sensitive representation for those in need.
