Paule Camazine & Blumenthal lawyer Susan E. Block was recently the keynote speaker at the 2017 LEAD Graduation ceremony, Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life, University of Missouri, St. Louis. The LEAD program inspires UMSL students to become involved in civic engagement and instills in them a passion for women’s public sector leadership.

Block was a volunteer in Sue Shear’s successful campaign for State Representative in 1972. Block later ran for Magistrate in St. Louis County in 1978, becoming the first woman ever elected there for a judicial position. Upon retiring from the bench in 2004, she returned to the practice of law where her focus is on family law. Block recently was inducted into the Fleur de Lis St. Louis University School of Law Hall of Fame which recognized her for professional and community contributions.
