Melissa G. Nolan and Peter A. Gianino recently spoke on July 20, 2009 at a National Business Institute ("NBI") web-based seminar titled Essential Immigration Issues For Non-Immigration Attorneys. Melissa and Pete discussed immigration law and how it may apply to non-U.S. citizens in other areas of the law, particularly in employment law, domestic law, and criminal law. The increased government enforcement of immigration laws has made it more important than ever for attorneys who do not practice immigration law and for companies which employ non-US citizens to have an understanding of how the attorney's and company's advice and actions in these other areas can have drastic immigration consequences.
